Those of you writing essays for 2,5 ECTS points, please send them as soon as possible, preferably by June 22nd (if you want the grade on June 23rd) or the latest by June 26th so they can be graded before June 28th, the last day for the grade to be written down in your index.

Thanks,

Hrvoje Cvijanovic

Dear students,

Since the system doesn't allow me to put your results and grades over here, please find it in the section with readings. I will be putting your grades into your grade book (index) on Friday 10th at 5:15 PM, office 13 (next to the room where we had our classes). Your grades will be available in an e-version on the same day.

Best,

Hrvoje Cvijanovic

Dear students,

Since I will be having the workshop on Friday 27th for almost all day, we will not be having a regular class as well as a suggested optional final exam. However, I will be there at 17:15 if some of you want to come optionally for a class in which we can discuss certain topics that you wish to raise either regarding the class in general, or anything specific that might be in your area of interest, or regarding the final, the ideas aboout the final, suggestions for the class, or whatever you might find interesting or concerning. Of course we can watch something as well that you might consider relevant for the class...you can suggest.

I know there was a split between those of you willing to take the final on Friday 27th, and those who would prefer June 3rd, but we are going to stick to June 3rd because this is said in the final update of our syllabus, as well as it will be more convenient for all. Let me know if you have any questions/comments.

See you,

Hrvoje Cvijanovic

Dear students,

Just to confirm that we will have all presentations originally planned for May 20th and May 27th in a case I will not be available on the 27th. I'll bring some snacks and soft drinks to enjoy this possible last class in a relaxed atmosphere. Next week I will let you know if the class scheduled for May 27th will be possible. If so, we will most likely watch a movie that will be one of the possibilities for your final on June 3rd.

Best,

Hrvoje Cvijanovic

Dear students,

For Friday 13th we are going to watch a movie during which we are going to have a sort of written exercise that would be graded after all.

Regarding the seminar, we will have two presentations: Cloud Atlas (by Leon Šostig) and the first episode from the season 3 of Battlestar Galactica entitled "Occupation" (by Luka Ajduković).

You can find all the readings for this class as well as for the rest of the semester uploaded or with their links provided (check the last updated syllabus that is uploaded and avaiable since the midterm).

Best,

Hrvoje Cvijanovic

Dear all,

Just a small reminder on how the presentation should look like. Take the readings assigned for the particular topic/movie you are presenting. Try to figure it out how these readings can be linked to your topic/movie. Present the readings along with the movie, make them an integral part of the topic you are presenting. Find out what the movie you are presenting on criticizes and in what way. Focus on some idea in the movie and elaborate on it (you can discuss many ideas, the more the better). Try to find out to what degree the movie discusses certain political/philosophical problems and ideas (more or less satisfactory) that you outlined in your presentation. Articulate the problems and questions and discuss them with other students. Make your power point presentation interesting. Let me know if you need the movie you are presenting on or any other help. Send me your presentation outline until 12:00 on Fridays (if possible) so we can avoid some overlapping. Have fun while thinking critically about the movie and readings!
